The 21st century has brought with it a wealth of new tools, technologies and methods for better understanding and even predicting human behavior. How do attitudes about heath reveal underlying social and psychological influences in our culture? Where do people’s perceptions of ethnic identity come from? What do industries need to know about what drives consumer behavior? And why are Labubus suddenly everywhere? In this course, students will learn to harness the power of cutting-edge data science techniques to analyze what makes people do what they do. Step into the fast-paced and rapidly growing field of social science research, where psychology and sociology intersect with programming, machine learning, and visual aesthetics to learn about what makes people tick for the purpose of changing the world.
