Using Your GI Bill® at Stevens

Stevens Institute of Technology is approved for enrollment certification of students eligible to receive educational assistance (GI Bill) from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Using Your GI Bill® at Stevens

1. Complete the online inquiry form (Graduate | Undergraduate)

The initial inquiry forms for undergraduate and graduate Veteran applicants require some basic information, and takes a few minutes to complete. Be sure to save and print a copy for your records, before hitting the submit button.

2. Know your eligibility and get the right documentation of your VA benefits

a. Find out if you are eligible to receive education benefits by visiting the Veterans Administration GI Bill benefits website. At this site you will be able to view and apply for your Veterans Education benefits. Before making a selection you may want to call 888.442.4551 and speak with a VA representative to gather more information about eligibility and election options.

b. Upon meeting the requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the applicant will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) Letter, which will indicate the chapter and eligible benefit. The COE must be received by the Veterans Office before your enrollment may be certified with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

3. Submit a Stevens application for admission
Complete the formal application for your desired program at the undergraduate or graduate level, and begin the application process (follow the directions regarding transcript and reference requests).

4. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Many students receiving veterans’ education benefits also qualify for federal student aid such as the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, and Federal Direct Loans. Receiving federal student aid does not impact the amount of benefits received from VA. Stevens encourages you to consider applying for financial aid by completing a free application at FAFSA.gov.
