iSTEM: From Idea to Launch, An Immersive Engineering Entrepreneurship Experience

Summer Residential Program:
iSTEM: From Idea to Launch, An Immersive Engineering Entrepreneurship Experience

Course Length: One Week
Dates:
July 12 - July 18

Program Cost: $3,350

Associated Majors: Charles V. Schaefer School of Engineering and Science

This is a one-week residential introductory experience and sampling of Stevens Institute of Technology’s iSTEM program that invites high school students who love to build, tinker and experiment to turn curiosity into creation by exploring entrepreneurship through hands-on engineering challenges — guided by mentors, not lectures or case studies. Students will work solo or in small teams to identify a real-world problem, imagine a solution and bring it to life. Over the course of the week, they’ll design, build and test a working prototype, explore how technology and design meet real needs, and share their ideas with real users. Program focus is on experimentation, collaboration and learning through trial and error — no prior technical or business experience required. By the end of the program, students will walk away having built and launched something tangible, along with a deeper understanding of how engineers turn ideas into impact. Most importantly, they’ll gain confidence in their ability to create, adapt and take initiative. Optional office hours and continued mentorship may be available for students interested in developing their ideas further.
