Funding the Future

Alaa Ahmed ’23 worked with professor Muhammad Hajj at the Davidson Lab to design and test a new grant-funded Ph.D. project – an energy converter that turns wave power into usable electricity. If they’re successful — and, so far, things are looking positive — the new converter will double the energy output of its closest competitor for about 60% of the cost.

Patented Success

Mohammad Mir's research in biomedical engineering professor Jinho Kim’s laboratory focuses on developing bioengineering devices and methods meant to treat and diagnose lung disorders and disease. Many of these technologies have been patented and will be made available for wide use in clinics and hospitals.

From Study to Startup

Amir Mirbeik ’18 completed his M.S. at the University of Tehran before earning his Ph.D. at Stevens. His long-time collaboration with an associate professor resulted in cofounding his startup RadioSight, which won a Small Business Technology Transfer grant to support his continued collaboration and bring a handheld cancer imaging device to market.
