Newest Ducks Flock to Hoboken

The Stevens School of Business greeted its newest cohort this week during its annual Academic Day and the annual welcome picnic.

The Class of 2030 includes 221 incoming students, plus 18 additional transfer students. Among them are 25 Pinnacle Scholars.

Business and Technology is the most popular major this year, with 65 students enrolled, followed by Quantitative Finance (60) and Finance (39).

The class represents 18 states — Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington — along with seven countries: China, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Russia, Spain, and Taiwan.

Eighty-two student-athletes are part of the incoming class, competing across 18 men's and women's teams.'

The day's activities included welcome remarks from Dean GJ de Vreede and SSB Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies Joelle Saad-Lessler. Additionally, members of the undergraduate operations team, the Center for Student Success and the Corporate Outreach & Professional Advancement office explained their roles in the students' experience.

"What truly sets Stevens apart is our community," Dean GJ de Vreede told the incoming class. "We really are a very tightly knit community, and we nurture this community. The people in this room are not only going to be your friends and your teammates, they may become your business partners, your co-founders. They're going to be the other ducks that help you grow and reach your goals. In the time that you're here, as a family, we take care of each other. We want all of you to succeed. Your success is going to be our success.”
