The growth of the use of analytics in almost every industry and every business function has triggered an unprecedented growth of our academic offerings in this area. Our flagship master’s program in Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is supplemented by undergraduate majors in Accounting & Analytics and in Marketing & Analytics, our master’s programs in Financial Analytics, and the Analytics MBA, multiple dual degrees with several universities around analytics, and our Ph.D. programs in Information Systems & Analytics and in Data Science.
In addition, a series of new professional certificates in Operational Excellence, Business Analytics, Fintech and Wealth Management have been designed to address specific industry needs and share emerging techniques with practitioners. Several conferences and lecture series at Stevens examine the value of science in decision-making and cutting-edge analytical techniques in business and finance.
To make our students fluent in all the aspects of data analytics, we launched the analytics practicum, a required capstone course where all analytics students undertake a project for a real company. This affords students the opportunity to collaborate with industry partners and hone their expertise in data cleaning and organization, data modeling, process design, development of analytical techniques to make business inferences, and presentation of the results. Every year, two poster sessions take place to present the approximately 30 projects undertaken annually.
