Applying for Financial Aid

Stevens offers both merit-based and need-based award opportunities to transfer students. Applicants who successfully submitted financial aid application requirements will receive notification of any financial aid decisions with their general admission notification. 

To be considered for Stevens financial aid, and/or federal and state aid, you must file the CSS Profileand FAFSA. International students only need to complete the CSS Profile and can only be considered for merit-based awards from Stevens.

Additional Considerations 

  • NJ residents/EOF recipients: If you're a New Jersey resident who received EOF funding at your previous institution, please note this on your Common Application.  

  • Phi Theta Kappa members: Must submit proof of membership (membership card or certificate) with your application to be considered for a scholarship of up to $5,000.  

  • Second bachelor’s degree students: Students applying for a second degree (seeking a bachelor’s degree after already earning one) are not eligible for merit-based and need-based awards. You may qualify for a limited selection of government loans.   

  • Pre-College Residential Program Alumni: The Stevens Pre-College Excellence Scholarship is awarded exclusively to alumni who have completed a Stevens Summer Pre-College Residential Program. In recognition of their dedication, commitment to learning and successful completion of the program, Pre-College alumni are eligible to receive this merit-based scholarship upon admission to an undergraduate program for Fall 2026 at Stevens Institute of Technology.

  • NJ STARS students: Students who have received NJ STARS at a New Jersey community college, graduated with an associate degree, achieved a 3.25 cumulative GPA, and have a family income (taxable and untaxed income) of less than $250,000 may qualify for NJ STARS II.
