Stevens is committed to supporting transfer students, including those who previously applied for first‑year admission.
We offer several pathways for students who begin their academic journey elsewhere and later wish to enroll at Stevens. Depending on a student’s secondary school record and academic background, the transfer admission team can advise on the most appropriate route for joining Stevens as a transfer student. Students are encouraged to contact the transfer team for individualized guidance and additional details.
Select students who were not admitted as a first-year student are invited to apply as a transfer student and start their second year at Stevens Institute of Technology. In order to be eligible for admission as a second-year transfer student, students must meet the following criteria:
Enroll at a regionally accredited community college or four-year institution in the United States
Complete a minimum of 24 transferable units (including in-progress units)
Remedial coursework (ex. pre-calculus) does not count towards the 24 units
Credits earned via exam (AP/IB) or dual enrollment do not count towards the 24 units
Obtain a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.00 with no major requirement coursework with a grade lower than B-
Students must complete the following by March 2, 2026 for Fall 2026 priority admission consideration:
Submit official college transcripts
Submit official high school transcripts
Submit coursework syllabi for transfer credit evaluation
Submit FAFSA and CSS profile
Meet with a Stevens transfer admission officer and/or attend a webinar outlining the pathway requirements and obligations
Students should receive priority admission, scholarship and first choice major if the above criteria is met. Each student's transfer pathway will be unique and assessed on an individual basis. Admission will be dependent on successful completion of all in-progress coursework.
