Online Graduate Programs Continue to Rank Top 20 Nationally, No. 1 in New Jersey

Stevens holds New Jersey's top spot in five programs in the latest 'U.S. News & World Report' rankings

Stevens Institute of Technology continues to rank as a leader in online education by U.S. News & World Report, which released its 2026 Best Online Programs rankings today.

Placing nationally in seven online graduate education categories between the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science and Stevens School of Business, Stevens claims the No. 1 spot in New Jersey in five of those categories. This also marks the 11th year in a row that Stevens’ online graduate degree in information technology has ranked No. 1 in New Jersey.

“Education — and the rigor and relevance of delivering that learning — is Stevens’ core competency, and it’s especially relevant in our online programs,” said Arshad Saiyed, Chief Online Learning Officer and Dean of the College of Professional Education (CPE), which offers several of Stevens’ online programs, as well as shorter-term certificate programs. “Our success is evidenced by these ranking recognitions year after year, and results from our commitment to offer technology-infused programs and to engage and meet learners where they are in their respective career journeys.”

The rankings for all seven programs are:

  • Best Online Graduate Engineering - Industrial (Systems) Engineering, No. 11 (No. 1 in New Jersey)

  • Best Online Graduate Engineering - Management, No. 7 (No. 1 in New Jersey)

  • Best Online Graduate Information Technology, No. 22 (No. 1 in New Jersey for 11 years in a row)

  • Best Online MBA, No. 78

  • Best Online MBA - Business Analytics, No. 16 (No. 1 in New Jersey)

These rankings are the latest in a string of achievements spanning more than a decade of growth marked by a consistent upward trend of enrollment, student profile, academic and campus expansion, and research funding.

For the rankings this year, U.S. News assessed nearly 1,850 online programs. The complete methodologies can be found here.
