Stevens’ newest Ducks bring entrepreneurial spirit, technological innovation, creative talent and plenty of personality to Stevens
The newest members of the Stevens Institute of Technology community have arrived — and the Class of 2030 is already making a huge splash.
Nearly 1,100 undergraduate students joined Stevens this fall, bringing with them big ambitions, impressive accomplishments and plenty of personality. They include 248 first-generation college students, 193 recruited student-athletes and 23 students making history as members of Stevens’ inaugural B.S. in Artificial Intelligence program. Over 70 students previously attended a Stevens pre-college program.
They’ve arrived from across the country and around the world. The class represents 27 countries and territories. The top home states outside of New Jersey are New York, Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The farthest U.S. hometown is Kailua, Hawaii, nearly 4,950 miles away.
The top citizenships of international students are from China, India, Brazil, South Korea and Ukraine, with the furthest international hometown being West Jakarta, Indonesia — about 10,050 miles from Hoboken.
Incoming graduate students — including master’s, Ph.D. and certificate seeking students — numbered more than 500, representing over 37 countries across 74 different academic programs with numerous student athletes and veterans.
Do we have students named Steven coming to Stevens? Yes, five of them! And ten students share a July 2 birthday.
Are achievers joining the flock? Absolutely. Among the talented class, Stevens has welcomed high school class presidents and valedictorians.
The Class of 2030 also comes with an impressive list of accomplishments. Before setting foot on campus, members of the class have founded businesses and nonprofits, launched technology ventures, published research and books, created video games, developed software, competed nationally and internationally in athletics and STEM competitions and earned recognition ranging from National Merit honors to Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Awards.
Their talents span disciplines and interests. The class includes entrepreneurs, researchers, robotics innovators, musicians, artists, published authors, athletes and community leaders — students who have already turned ideas into businesses, organized service initiatives, conducted university research and competed at the highest levels in sports and academic competitions.
And Stevens is investing in their success. The inaugural cohort of eligible students receiving support through The Stevens Investment, Stevens’ full-tuition financial aid program, is beginning its Stevens journey this fall. The incoming class also includes 21 iSTEM students, who are joining our program designed to support and enrich students who learn differently.

I wish our incoming students every success as they begin this next chapter, and I am confident they will make the most of all that Stevens has to offer while leaving their own mark on our campus.”
