Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer

Michael Parente, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of experience in information technology advancing technology strategy, enterprise infrastructure and digital transformation. He guides the university’s IT strategy and operations, overseeing services including enterprise applications, data and analytics, platform integration, systems and network engineering, research computing, learning technology, academic multimedia, client support, project management and information security.

Chief Information Security Officer and Deputy CIO

Jeremy Livingston is the Chief Information Security Officer and Deputy CIO. He has over 25 years’ experience in a wide range of organizations such as NJEdge, Fortium Partners, the Pew Charitable Trusts, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Executive Office of the President in the White House, and the US Navy. He holds a master’s degree in Cybersecurity, a bachelor’s in information technology, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Business Administration. He has also served on various advisory and steering committees for InCommon and Eduroam; and currently runs the New Jersey Cybersecurity Community of Practice in Higher Education.

Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Technology Services

Hammad Ali is the Assistant Vice President for Enterprise Technology Services, bringing more than 25 years of experience leading enterprise infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. He oversees network operations, cloud and data center services, research computing, web services, and data and analytics, and serves as Co-Chair of the Research Computing Committee. Prior to joining Stevens, Hammad held senior infrastructure leadership roles at Rockefeller Capital Management, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Pearson, and Lohmann Therapy Systems. He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Senior Director, Client Support and Learning Technology Services

Mike Scalero serves as the Senior Director of Client Support and Learning Technology Services. He has been with Stevens for more than two decades, holding a variety of roles within the Division of Information Technology and contributing to—and leading—a wide range of enterprise initiatives. In his current role, Mike provides leadership across instructional technology, learning design, multimedia services, and client support, ensuring high-quality, reliable services for the Stevens community. Mike holds a B.A. in Communications from William Paterson University and an M.S. in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Steve Flanagan

Senior Director, Enterprise Systems and IT Business Strategy

Steve Flanagan is the Senior Director of Enterprise Systems and IT Business Strategy. He has worked in Higher Education for 13 years and been at Stevens for six years in various roles, including as the Project Manager of the Workday Student Implementation in 2021 and co-Project Manager of the Workday Financials implementation in 2025. Most recently he was the Director of Workday Solutions. He established the Workday @ Stevens governance model and has a strong history of leading teams following his previous experience in coaching and compliance roles at Providence College and Brandeis University. Steve holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Fairfield University and a M.B.A. from Providence College.
