Stevens Among Nation's Top Universities for Graduate Earnings
Federal College Scorecard data places Stevens graduates in the same earnings tier as Yale and Cornell
Stevens Institute of Technology graduates earn among the highest salaries in the United States, according to a new Business Insider analysis of federal College Scorecard data. The publication ranked Stevens tied for No. 26 nationally among nearly 5,000 colleges and universities included in the federal dataset, reporting median earnings of $113,000 four years after graduation — placing Stevens in the same earnings tier as Yale University and Cornell University.
The ranking is based on data from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, which tracks the earnings of former students who received federal financial aid. Stevens also ranks No. 1 among New Jersey institutions on the federal earnings measure, reinforcing the university's longstanding reputation for exceptional career outcomes and return on investment.
"Stevens graduates consistently rank among the highest-earning in the nation, and my reasons for that are clear: We combine rigorous, technology-focused academics with real-world experience through co-ops, internships and industry partnerships, and we prepare students not just for their first job, but for lifelong career success," said Stevens President Nariman Farvardin. "These results are a reflection of that commitment."
Stevens' strong earnings outcomes reflect the university's longstanding emphasis on experiential learning, industry partnerships and technology-focused education. According to the university's Class of 2025 Career Outcomes Report, more than 93% of graduates achieved their desired outcome — employment or graduate school enrollment — within six months of graduation, with graduates earning an average starting salary of $86,900.
The Business Insider findings add to a growing body of national recognition for Stevens' outcomes and value. The university ranks No. 9 nationally among colleges with the best return on investment according to U.S. News & World Report, No. 12 nationally for career placement according to The Princeton Review and No. 45 on LinkedIn's Top Colleges 2025 list.
Beginning this fall, Stevens will further expand access to its high-value educational model through The Stevens Investment, which provides full tuition coverage for qualifying students from families earning $75,000 or less. Together with the university's nationally recognized outcomes, the initiative reflects Stevens' commitment to ensuring that talented students can access an education that delivers exceptional long-term value.
