Stevens Announces The Stevens Investment, a Transformative Plan to Promote Access to Higher Education

Beginning fall 2026, Stevens tuition will be free for undergraduate students whose families earn $75,000 or less

Hoboken, N.J., Sept. 30, 2025 – Pursuing higher education opens doors for students and their families, promoting social mobility and creating new career opportunities. For some families, the cost of tuition can make that path feel out of reach. To minimize the barriers talented students with limited resources face, Stevens Institute of Technology today announced The Stevens Investment, a plan to offer full tuition coverage to first-time, first-year, full-time undergraduate U.S. citizen or permanent resident students admitted to a degree program whose families earn $75,000 per year or less.

The Stevens Investment is a bold commitment to expanding access to a transformative Stevens education, beginning with the incoming class of Fall 2026. To qualify, students must complete both the FAFSA and CSS Profile by the posted application deadlines.

In a challenging job market for college degree holders, Stevens graduates have consistently demonstrated the competitive advantage of a Stevens degree. In April 2025, U.S. News & World Report placed Stevens at No. 9 in the nation for return on investment 40 years after enrollment. To ensure all students have the tools they need to thrive in a demanding academic environment, Stevens has invested heavily in student experience, launching the innovative SUCCESS program, a new core curriculum that reinforces life skills for first-year students, as well as specialization in The Frontiers of Technology, which exposes students to emerging fields of study and ensures Stevens grads can remain nimble even when facing challenging markets.

"At Stevens, we recognize that exceptional students come from all backgrounds and economic circumstances,” said President Nariman Farvardin. “Our role as an institution is to identify that potential and work to remove barriers that might prevent these talented individuals from accessing the transformative education Stevens provides. This program reflects our longstanding commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders and innovators, regardless of their family's financial situation."

“The Stevens Investment represents years of strategic planning to ensure talented students can feel at home at Stevens,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Cindy Chin. “We are thrilled to have arrived at this milestone, and to be able to put a Stevens education within reach for more students.”

The Stevens Investment represents one element of a diverse portfolio of financial aid resources designed to support students. For the incoming class of 2025, Stevens awarded over $38 million in institutional aid, which includes transfers, with nearly 99.9% of students receiving some form of institutional assistance (merit and or need-based). The undergraduate student population in the 2024-2025 academic year collectively received more than $190 million in financial aid from internal and external resources.
