Stevens Alumni Volunteer Voices: Brianna Sandone ’16

As Stevens’ Philadelphia Alumni Chapter Co-Lead, Brianna Sandone ’16 is building a network that engages alumni across class years and disciplines. She finds inspiration in meeting alumni with diverse experiences, and she is doing all she can to contribute to the university’s legacy of a dedicated alumni community.

How/why did you decide to contribute your time as a Stevens volunteer?

I decided to volunteer because I value the strong sense of community that Stevens fosters. Staying connected to fellow alumni and helping to maintain those bonds feels like a meaningful way to give back to the institution that shaped so much of my personal and professional growth. Volunteering allows me to carry forward the spirit of Stevens and keep our network vibrant.

What excites you most about what you do for Stevens?

What excites me most is seeing alumni reconnect, sometimes after years, and watching friendships and professional connections grow from those moments. There’s something special about hearing stories from different generations and realizing how Stevens has been a common thread in all of our lives.

How has volunteering for Stevens impacted you personally?

Volunteering has deepened my appreciation for the Stevens community. It’s given me a stronger sense of belonging and pride, and it’s expanded my network in ways that have been both personally and professionally enriching. I’ve learned from alumni with diverse experiences, and those connections have inspired me in my own career.

What do you feel is the impact of alumni involvement in the university?

Alumni involvement keeps the Stevens spirit alive beyond campus. It strengthens the university’s network, supports current students through mentorship and resources, and preserves traditions that make Stevens unique. Active alumni help ensure that the values and culture of the university continue to thrive.

What would you say to other alumni who were considering volunteering at Stevens?

Go for it! Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back, meet incredible people, and stay connected to a place that has shaped who you are. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your involvement can make a real difference and you’ll gain just as much as you give.
