Media Invited to Cover Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Plaza Atop Babbio Garage

Stevens Institute of Technology will officially open plaza with ribbon-cutting ceremony at fifth annual Stevens Community BBQ

(Hoboken, N.J.) – Stevens Institute of Technology will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the new plaza atop of the expanded Babbio Garage on Thursday, June 14, at 6 p.m. The pedestrian rooftop plaza, which features a green roof and a new concrete staircase down to Sinatra Dr., offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and will be available to the campus community and residents of Hoboken.

Stevens President Nariman Farvardin and Mayor Ravi Bhalla will give remarks in front of more than 300 attendees, including elected officials, faculty, staff, community members and many of the 600 alumni who live in Hoboken. University leaders, elected officials, as well as faculty, staff and members of the community, will be available for interviews during the celebration.

Media Check-In: Media must check in at the Babbio atrium, adjacent to the outdoor plaza, no earlier than 5:45 p.m. Edward Stukane will be the on-site contact (201.323.5674). 

Media Parking: A limited number of spaces will be available for media in the Babbio Garage. Media with heavy equipment should take the elevator from the garage to the Babbio atrium.
