Celebrating the Season at Stevens’ 10th Annual Winter Wonderland

Nearly 650 students gathered to usher in some seasonal merriment before the winter break

Stevens Institute of Technology’s campus was bursting with holiday cheer last week as nearly 650 students gathered to celebrate Stevens’ 10th annual Winter Wonderland. Filled with festive (and tasty) delights, Winter Wonderland is a highlight for many students, including Anthony Didomenico, a 2/3 business and technology major.

“There’s always a nice variety of food,” he said, echoing the sentiments of many attendees who enjoyed the festive spread.

Later in the evening, attendees lined up with hot chocolates in hand to enjoy live performances from talented student musicians who filled the air with joyful classics. Also drawing a crowd was the Santa competition, where students donned their most elaborate holiday outfits in an effort to out-jolly one another.

For 2/4 computer science major Breona Pizzuta, this opportunity to gather and partake in the festivities was the most important element of the evening. “It’s always fun to see everyone participate,” she said.

Tables from cultural and religious organizations added to the festivities, showcasing their holiday traditions celebrated around the world. Meanwhile, holiday baskets were being raffled off, adding an extra dose of excitement. “I always look forward to these awesome giveaways,” said Arianna Ciregna, 2/4 engineering management major.

As the evening drew to a close, the annual tree lighting ceremony served as the grand finale: Just as the lights flickered on, a light snowfall dusted campus, transforming the scene into a picture-perfect winter moment right out of your favorite holiday film.

The Stevens community wishes everyone a wonderful, restful holiday break!

Campus offices will be closed for Winter Recess from Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
