AI Ignite: Exploring the Technology’s Future in Insights

The AI Ignite conference brought together thought leaders to discuss how AI is shaping the future of business analytics

On October 17, 2024, Stevens Institute of Technology hosted the Insights Association's "AI Ignite: Exploring the Technology's Future in Insights" conference. This one-day event brought together leaders and innovators to explore AI's evolving role in the business analytics industries through interactive discussions and expert panels focused on real-world AI applications, synthetic data and the dynamic human-AI relationship.

Melanie Courtright, CEO of Insights Association, kicked off the event with opening remarks about the business analytics profession. Prominent speakers included Ben Jordan of Clorox, who highlighted how brands leverage AI to drive decision-making; Christopher Frank of PSB Insights, who offered alternatives to traditional marketing scales in brand tracking; and Tina Tonielli of Haleon, who discussed the power of AI-driven insights for competitive advantage. The event's diverse agenda presented a comprehensive view of AI's potential to reshape business operations.

One of the highlights was the "Synthetic Data Debate," where thought leaders explored the proposition that synthetic data could replace traditional human-generated insights. This debate, moderated by Cecilia Dones of Columbia Business School, captivated the audience and sparked discussion on AI's ethical implications and future directions.

The afternoon sessions introduced participants to the latest AI innovations with workshops on hot topics like prompt engineering and AI's influence on qualitative research.

As the host of AI Ignite, the Stevens School of Business demonstrated its commitment to fostering innovation and leadership in AI, reinforcing its role as a critical player in the academic and business community.
