Application Requirements

Admission Requirements

  • Online Application 

  • Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended 

    • Students can submit unofficial transcripts during the application process, but official transcripts must be submitted prior to the start of your academic intake. 

    • Official transcripts must be sent directly from your previous institution(s) to Stevens electronically or mailed to the following address: Stevens Institute of Technology, Graduate Admissions, 1 Castle Point Terrace, Hoboken, NJ 07030 

    • International students who cannot have their transcripts mailed to Stevens must provide their official transcripts (in a sealed envelope containing their university seal on the flap of the envelope) at the time of their arrival in the United States.

  • Two letters of recommendation (academic or professional only) 

    • Students can indicate two references on the application form. The references will subsequently receive emails requesting that a recommendation be submitted on behalf of applicants. 

  • Resume/CV (School of Business applicants only) 

  • Personal Statement (required for all full-time applicants) 

    • Students should write the personal statement on the topic - Why did you choose Stevens and the programs that you are applying to? 

    • Your personal statement should be one to two pages long and should be typed using Times New Roman font size 12.

  • $60 non-refundable Application Fee 

  • Proof of English language proficiency 

    • Depending on your native language and academic background, you may be required to provide proof of English language proficiency by submitting the results of an English language proficiency exam, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo.*

  • GRE/GMAT test score(s)* 

    • GRE/GMAT test optional policy is in effect for graduate Master of Science & Master of Engineering applicants for the intake periods of Fall 2024, and Spring 2025. The Ph.D. and MBA programs continue to require the GRE/GMAT of all full-time applicants. Applicants who think that their test scores reflect their potential for success in graduate school may submit scores for consideration.

    • Any GRE/GMAT test scores submitted will be used during the review process for admission and funding.

    • Part-time master's degree applicants are not required to submit GMAT/GRE test scores.

  • Writing sample (PhD applicants only) 

Score Reporting*

Students can submit self-reported test scores during the application process, but official test scores must be submitted once an applicant is admitted to Stevens. Official test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Stevens using the institution codes listed below:
