How to Apply

Applicants must:

  • Submit the Common Application or Coalition Application

  • Apply under Regular Decision

  • Submit all materials by November 1

Please note that applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at the time of application.

Required Supplemental Materials

After submitting your Stevens application, complete the following through the Applicant Portal:

  • Pre-med supplemental essay describing why you wish to become a physician

  • Pre-med resume documenting healthcare-related experiences, research, volunteering and/or shadowing

  • Accelerated Program Supplemental Questions Form

Required Stevens Application Materials
  • Official high school transcript

  • Application essay

  • Two letters of recommendation (teacher and/or counselor preferred)

  • $75 application fee

  • Official SAT or ACT scores submitted directly by the testing agency

Academic Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Complete four years of English

  • Complete four years of mathematics including:

    • Algebra

    • Geometry

    • Pre-Calculus

    • Calculus

  • Complete three years of laboratory science:

    • Biology

    • Chemistry

    • Physics

  • Rank in the top 5% of their graduating class

Recommended Coursework
  • AP Biology

  • AP Chemistry

Standardized Test Requirements

This program is test-required.

Minimum scores:

  • SAT: 1400 combined Math and Evidence-Based Reading & Writing (single sitting)

  • ACT: 32 Composite including Science (single sitting)

Scores must be completed and submitted before November 1

Selection Process

Step 1: Stevens Review

  • Application review

  • Invitation-only Stevens interview

Step 2: NJMS Review

  • Selected applicants are forwarded to NJMS

  • NJMS conducts secondary review

  • Invitation-only NJMS interview

Step 3: Admissions Decision

  • Final admission decisions are made by NJMS

Additional Information

  • Stevens interviews approximately 50 qualified applicants annually

  • Stevens selects finalists to advance for NJMS review

  • NJMS determines final interview and admission numbers

Maintaining Program Eligibility

Students accepted into the program must:

  • Complete three years in Accelerated Chemical Biology

  • Maintain a minimum 3.5 overall GPA

  • Earn a B or better in all required pre-med coursework

MCAT Requirement

Students must:

  • Complete the MCAT during the third year at Stevens

  • Achieve an MCAT score comparable to the average entering NJMS class

Historically, competitive scores have ranged between 514-516.
