Po-Shen Loh
Carnegie Mellon Math Professor, International Math Olympiad Foundation VP Advancement
Po-Shen Loh is a math olympiad champion, social entrepreneur, and professor at Carnegie Mellon University. A silver medalist at the 1999 International Math Olympiad, he went on to coach Team USA to back-to-back #1 world rankings in 2015–16 and 2018–19. A Hertz Fellow and recipient of the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, Prof. Loh's work spans pure mathematics, AI, and education reform. He speaks in over 100 cities per year — in classrooms, conference halls, and research labs — and has reached audiences totaling over 25 million YouTube views. His latest initiative brings together math stars and performers to reimagine what learning can look like in the age of AI.
Professor Loh will present in DeBaun Auditorium from 10:00–10:30 a.m. for students in grades 9–12 and parents. The session will continue from 10:30–11:30 a.m. for parents only, focusing on the principles behind this new approach to mathematics education. Parents should arrive by 10:00 a.m. to attend the full presentation.
