Campus Traditions
Stevens takes pride in a strong history and culture of campus traditions. Each year, students can expect to participate in events and activities that are unique to the Stevens experience.
THE WITTPENN WALK
New students process to Convocation through the Gatehouse and along Wittpenn Walk, which is lined with cheering upperclass students, faculty, and administration. As seniors, students walk down Wittpenn Walk and back out through the Gatehouse on their last day of class to attend the Senior Sunset Toast, ceremoniously ending their career at Stevens. THE DUCK DANCE
The Duck Dance is taught to all students at Orientation and performed at athletic events, the Flock Party After Dark, and on other prideful occasions to promote Stevens spirit.
DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT
Students from each first year residence hall compete to win the coveted honor of being the First Year Dodgeball Champions. Sponsored by Residence Life (September)
DUCK DAYS
A week-long celebration of Stevens pride including Quack Cab, a scavenger hunt with Attila, a pool party, a university-wide talent show called Ducks on Display, and special food items at campus dining locations. Sponsored by Gear & Triangle, Student Affairs (February)
FLOCK PARTY
First event of the year bringing all students together to promote the 110+ student organizations, community partners and local Duckbill Vendors that make Stevens such a vibrant community. Sponsored by Student Life, Student Government Association (August)
FOUNDER'S DAY BALL
A black tie evening of dinner and dancing commemorating the anniversary of the university’s founding on February 15, 1870. Sponsored by Student Government Association (February)
FIRST YEAR FAMILY WEEKEND
Families of our newest students return to campus for a weekend visit full of events, information sessions, and fun. Sponsored by Student Affairs (September)
HARVEST MOON FESTIVAL
A campus-wide fall festival including fall foods, pumpkins, arts and crafts and other autumn activities. Sponsored by the Entertainment Committee, Campus Dining (September)
HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING
Students light the campus with over 160,000 lights while bringing together over 1000 students for hot chocolate, holiday desserts, giveaways and live music under our spectacular campus tree. Sponsored by the Tree Lighting Committee, Entertainment Committee (December)
LeadHERship CONFERENCE
This annual conference strives to promote and amplify the voices of women in STEM by bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences for a day of motivation, networking, skill-building and professional development.
