Stevens knows that a healthy lifestyle equates to a better education, so the university is proud to offer extensive opportunities for students to maintain personal wellness, both physically and mentally.  

The Student Wellness Center

The Student Wellness Center provides a broad range of critical services towards the physical and mental well-being of all students.  Students can visit Student Health Services, Student Counseling and Psychological Services,  Disability Services, and Wellness Education.   Through these professional services and programs, Stevens supports a comprehensive, coordinated, and holistic approach to student wellness.  

Stevens has been named a recipient of the Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention. Presented by Vector Solutions, the CPN Seal of Prevention is awarded to institutions of higher education that have demonstrated leadership in digital prevention programming focused on student safety, well-being, and inclusion.

Student Health Services

All full-time students are automatically enrolled in the Stevens Student Health Insurance Plan offered by University Health Plans, Inc. A premium for coverage is added to their tuition bill unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.

Counseling and Psychological Services

We understand that the university experience can at times be overwhelming. Whether it’s the transition from high school to college or studying for final exams, Counseling and Psychological Services is here to help by providing personal and group counseling services to enrolled students.

At Stevens, we view disability as a form of diversity and are committed to providing an equitable and inclusive environment for all students. The Office of Disability Services offers services to help level the playing field and create opportunities for achievement for students with disabilities.

Athletics at Stevens

Stevens is moving to the Middle Atlantic Conference, you can catch the Ducks running the soccer field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex or dribbling down the court at the Canavan Arena in the Charles V. Schaefer Athletic Center. Or, if you’d prefer to get in on the action yourself, you can join one of the many club and intramural sports Stevens offers. Regardless of skill level or experience, you can find your place on a team in an exciting, challenging and safe environment.

Want to compete against other schools, but not at the varsity level? Join one of the 19 teams in sports ranging from baseball, volleyball and basketball to archery, sailing and skiing.

Hit the Gym

Students have access to the Schaefer Center, which includes a swimming pool, fitness center and athletic training center.  There’s also the Walker Gymnasium, which has an indoor track and an open basketball/volleyball court available for student use.  Several group fitness classes, including yoga, indoor cycling, Zumba® and boot camp, are held throughout the semester to keep participants motivated and on track.

Indoor Basketball Courts

Rain or shine, hit the court in our indoor basketball court inside Walker Gymnasium. The gym also features an indoor walking track and volleyball courts. 

Find Health & Wellness Through an Outdoor Adventure

The Outdoor Adventure Program also offers students an opportunity to be active while exploring the beauty of nature.  From local hikes and mountain biking to kayaking and paddleboarding, students are encouraged to enjoy the thrill of each activity and appreciate their natural surroundings.  And for those who need a reprieve from the New Jersey winter, the program takes an annual trip to Costa Rica during the winter recess. Find Your Next Adventure.
