Everyone's college journey looks different. You may already know the Stevens School of Business is where you want to be but aren't sure which major will shape your time at Stevens. That's exactly what our Undecided Business pathway is for.

How Undecided Business Works

When you apply to Stevens as a first-year student, you're not required to declare a major. You can enter the School of Business through our Undecided Business program instead. The broad core curriculum gives you a balanced blend of foundational business skills and knowledge combined with emerging tools and technologies, all while you sample the majors we offer, including: Accounting & Analytics, Business & Artificial Intelligence, Business & Technology, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing & Analytics. This curiosity-driven approach lets you sit in on coursework across disciplines, meet peers already on that track and get to know faculty in the areas that interest you, ensuring you build core skills that will carry directly into whichever major you choose.

Your Timeline to Declare

You'll have three semesters, your full first year plus the fall of your sophomore year, to explore before choosing a major, which you'll declare heading into your fourth semester – at the latest. This won’t happen on your own. During this process, you’ll work closely with your academic advisor to establish a study plan to keep you on track and ensure a smooth transition. When you’re ready, you can be confident your decision is based on firsthand experience with what actually excites you, not just a hunch.

Undecided Core

The Undecided Core is designed to ensure you get exposure to our program offerings, all while building foundational skills that will be needed in any major you choose. Your academic advisor will help you build a study plan.
