Business and Technology executive as a CIO, with hands-on experience in innovation, IT strategy, Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Cloud Strategy and Data Management and strategy. Teacher and mentor of the next generation of business leaders. Global Senior Information Technology leader with experience providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing Information Technology strategies and solutions that drive commercial excellence and business value. Led organizations transformation and the alignment of the IT organization to business goals and company’s vision, while fostering a customer centric culture and mindset and the use of business analytics to drive decision making. Enhanced the organization’s digital dexterity through automation, self-service, and the establishment of a digital workplace. Member of the IEEE Inc. executive team as Chief Information Officer (CIO) from 2015 to 2023, with a responsibility for leading a global IT team and for developing and delivering cost effective, reusable, and scalable technology solutions. Currently Senior Lecturer and Program Director for BA and AI at the School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology. Adjunct Professor, Rutgers Business School – MSIS Department: Developed a new graduate course on “IT Strategy” and taught the course for 5 years at New Brunswick and Newark Campuses. Supervised Capstone projects.
Remote Adjunct Professor, Hibernia College (Ireland) – Co-developed a new graduate course on “IT and eMedicine” and taught it remotely for 3 years.

Key actions and results:
Partnered with business leaders to develop, communicate, and implement a business aligned 5 years IT strategy that leveraged emerging and continuously changing technologies to deliver efficiencies and operations excellence, while developing capabilities to enable business strategy. Restructured IT teams and processes for a better alignment to business priorities and their evolving needs. Bridged the gap between business and technology teams. Established a new IT operating model including a reference architecture and IT governance. Developed and implemented a digital strategy which transformed the way we work and serve IEEE members and customers. The digital transformation was planned and executed through innovation, automation, self-service, mobility, cloud, and analytics. Enhanced the organization's digital dexterity by evolving the culture and by the establishment of a digital workplace. Developed a data management strategy and implemented an MDM using GUI, data governance, data security and compliance with regulations and data privacy requirements. Implemented a business analytics solution that provided 360-degree view of our customers, and enabled informed decision making and targeted engagement with members and customers. Transformed the way we plan and execute cyber security protection with emphasis on prevention, awareness programs, talent, and partnership with third party experts. Implemented efficient governance and risk management. Established an Innovation Lab that drove innovation through experimentation, and a mobile factory that enabled a mobile-first strategy. Established an innovation award. Implemented Cloud-First strategy and moved away from custom design, resulting in less capital expenditure, agility in delivery of supportable solutions with flexibility to evolve. Planned, developed, and successfully implemented a new Cloud ERP and augmented it with adjacent capabilities to support both staff and members/volunteers’ financial operations. Enhanced the infrastructure and automated multiple IT processes that reduced reliance on individuals and minimized the number of disruptions while enhancing performance.
PFIZER: Senior Director Business Technology, Pfizer Inc, 1997 to 2015
Member of Pfizer Inc Business Technology team and holding multiple roles with responsibilities to lead teams across multiple countries and functional areas and participated in multiple corporate wide initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, organization restructuring, establishment of ERP, CRM, and vendors’ consolidation.
1) Business Technology and Digital leader responsible for leading global marketing and commercial business technology teams across Pfizer Emerging Markets. Collaborated with global and regional marketing and commercial operations executives to develop and implement digital strategies and solutions.
Developed a Global Tenders and Contracting capability and launched it in 70 markets. An investment of $3M that resulted in a $65M revenue increase in the first year of implementation. Increased customers' reach through new and enhanced digital channels such as social media, webinars, Mobile, Health Care Professional (HCPs) sites, email campaigns. Launched a virtual congress, deployed it to 13 countries, and reached over 20,000 physicians within 2 months. Increased marketing effectiveness through the development and deployment of digital strategies and solutions including multi-channel marketing, medical education, interactions analytics, and personalized marketing. Contributed to the strategy development and formulation of the business transformation plans and organizational restructuring of Pfizer Emerging Markets commercial teams and led the technology work stream. Participated and led business technology workstreams during multiple Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
2) Senior Director, Business Technology partner leader for Pfizer Europe Commercial Teams with responsibility for all IT aspects of regional marketing and commercial organizations across Europe and Canada. Led the development of patients' programs and data analytics that provided consolidated customer information. Developed a digital road map for cross-pollination of successful digital solutions.
Led the development and implementation of multiple patients care and HCPs programs across Europe, including the first behavior modification (B-Mod) program for smoking cessation and a Lipitor compliance program. Programs leveraged and reused in other countries outside of Europe. Planned and launched the first regional CRM solution across Europe to support Pfizer's strategic program called Adapting around Customers in Europe that linked all customers' touch points through a Customer Consolidated Master that provided 360-degree views of customers.
3) Director, Business Technology leader for Pfizer Medical with a responsibility for developing technology solutions and managing all systems that support medical affairs, regulatory, records management, submissions, safety, medical information, and compliance monitoring.
4) Regional Director, Pfizer Africa/Middle East and Asia leading regional and country IT teams and with a responsibility for managing all IT resources and talent development, including budgets.
5) Senior Business Technology Manager for Pfizer US HR and Sales developing multiple technology solutions and websites that enabled the streamlining of HR and sales operations resulting in faster and informed decision-making.
