Additional Application Information

Submitting Supplemental Information

Supplemental materials that must accompany your application include your

  • official transcript

  • at least one teacher recommendation

  • one guidance counselor recommendation

  • SAT or ACT scores (or your digital portfolio, if applicable)

  • personal statement.

Submitting Your Test Scores

The Covid-19 Pandemic has led to continued SAT/ACT testing challenges.  It remains difficult for many students to take the exams and students who are able to take the exams may still be doing so under unusual circumstances.  Recognizing that standardized testing opportunities may not be available to potential applicants, and in an effort to support access to our university, Stevens Institute of Technology is extending the SAT/ACT test optional policy, with some exceptions, for Fall 2023 first year applicants and Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Fall 2023 transfer applicants.

Portfolio Submission

We believe in giving prospective students the best opportunities to showcase their talents and skills. For this reason, we strongly encourage applicants to our Music & Technology and Visual Arts & Technology programs to submit a portfolio.

All portfolio materials must be uploaded on your student portal after submitting your application. Direct submissions of electronic media outside of the portal cannot be reviewed.

Your Admissions Interview

Interviews are optional for all applicants to Stevens. For Fall 2023 applicants, interviews will be held virtually and in-person.  Registration information can be found on the Campus Visit Portal

For students applying to the accelerated pre-medicine program, Stevens will contact applicants to schedule an interview following our initial application review. Select students will be contacted, as not all applicants are guaranteed an interview with Stevens.

Application Confirmation

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement from our office indicating that we received your application. Stevens will communicate with you via email to follow up on required supporting documents and other requests relevant to your application. When you submit an application for admission, you will be opted in to receive email communications from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to ensure that we can communicate effectively with you about the application process.

Viewing Your Application

After submitting your application, you will have access to your student portal. On your portal, you can view your application checklist, admission decision and all information relevant to your Stevens application. You will receive an email whenever an update is available on your portal.

Notification of Admission Decision

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will notify you of our admission decision by the date listed on the admissions timeline. If you’re admitted, you can then use your student portal to view financial aid information, reply to your offer of admission, and access enrollment documents.
