Graduate International Student Resources

Graduate International Student Resources

We welcome students from all over the world who wish to pursue an advanced degree at Stevens. As is the case with graduate study throughout the United States, aid to international graduate students (those studying in the U.S. on visas) is limited. However, several options are still available to you and we’re here to help you find them so that you can join us for postgraduate study.

Assistantships & Fellowships

Stevens is pleased to offer a limited number of graduate assistantships on a merit-basis through our academic departments. Learn about research assistantships, teaching assistantships and our prestigious fellowship programs.

Private Loans

We recommend that you exhaust all other avenues of financial aid (scholarships, grants, home-country funding, etc.) before you decide to borrow private student loans, which usually have higher interest rates. Most U.S. private lenders require you to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, but requirements vary by lender. As an international student, you may have to have a U.S. co-signer who can guarantee the loan. Some institutions on our lender list may make loans to international students. View each lender’s details for more information.
