Submitting Test Scores
Stevens Institute of Technology will be extending its SAT/ACT test optional policy, with some exceptions (as noted below) for first-year applicants applying for entry term Fall 2026 and transfer applicants applying for entry terms between Spring 2025 and Fall 2026. The current test optional policy is being evaluated for future years, with an update expected by the end of the 2025 calendar year.
Standardized testing is only one element of Stevens' comprehensive and holistic application review. On the application, students need to indicate whether they intend to submit test scores.
While submitting test scores is optional, we encourage applicants who feel their scores reflect their academic abilities and college readiness to include them, as these may strengthen their application. Applicants who choose to self-report test scores must submit official score reports from the testing agency as part of their application.
The highest section scores across test dates, whether a superscored SAT or superscored ACT, submitted to Stevens will be considered. We do not prefer one exam over the other. Results from the current redesigned SAT and/or the old SAT will be accepted; we will consider only the highest testing results reported from one version of the test, not by combining sections across both versions.
The test optional plan does not eliminate the need for demonstrated language proficiency. Non-native English-speaking students will still be required to submit results from an English language proficiency exam (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT EBRW or Duolingo).
If you are applying to our Accelerated Pre-Medicine or Pre-Law programs, test scores must still be submitted.
Use the following institutional codes when submitting your standardized test scores:
SAT code: 2819
ACT code: 2610
