Academic and Faculty Advisors

All HASS students have a support network that consists of an academic advisor and a faculty advisor. Kerri Johnsen serves as the academic advisor for all students within the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

Students within HASS are encouraged to schedule an in-person or virtual meeting with Kerri to discuss course planning, including the creation of an academic plan; develop, clarify, and modify academic goals; ask questions related to adding a HASS minor; learn about resources within HASS and across campus.

Faculty advisors are assigned to each student based on their program(s) of study. Students can view their faculty advisor from their Academics tab in Workday. Faculty advisors are available to serve as mentors who can create linkages between academic and career goals; suggest extracurricular opportunities that can enhance a student’s educational experience.
