Finance Recognition

CFP Board

The concentration in Financial Planning in the master's in Finance program, along with the Financial Planning certificate, is approved from the Certified Financial Planning Board, an indication that these programs sufficiently prepare students to sit for the CFP Exam.

The mission of the CFP Board is to benefit the public by granting the CFP certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning. CFP certification is considered the gold standard in the fast-growing field of financial planning and wealth management.

The master’s in Finance has been accepted into the CFA Institute’s University Affiliation Program. This status is granted to institutions whose degree programs incorporate at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), which provide students with a solid grounding in the CBOK and positions them well to sit for the CFA exams.

As a participant in the University Affiliation Program, Stevens is allotted a certain number of student scholarships. For information on how to qualify for a scholarship to sit for the CFA exam, contact Dr. Elaine Henry.
