Graduate students at Stevens may be admitted into 3 categories:
Applicant has submitted all official documents - Proof of undergraduate degree/diploma, all other official transcripts, test scores (TOEFL/IELTS*, GRE/GMAT, whichever applicable) and is fully admitted. Once admitted, no additional action is needed on students end.
Applicants who are unable to supply official documentation of all required documentation and have submitted one or more documents that are unofficial - transcripts, diploma, test scores TOEFL/IELTS*, GRE/GMAT (whichever applicable) are evaluated based on unofficial documents.
If determined to be admissible based on the unofficial documents submitted during the application review process, the student will be admitted with post-admission provisions.
Action on students end: Your admission letter will indicate that you have post-admission provisions that must be met. If this is the case, we must receive any outstanding items such as an official final transcript showing award of the degree or final diploma, official GRE/GMAT and official TOEFL/IELTS* scores.
While a student who is admitted with post-admission provisions will be allowed to enroll for his/her first semester of study, all post-admission provisions must be cleared by the end of the first semester of enrollment. If students fail to clear these required provisions by the end of the first enrolled semester, an administrative hold will be placed on their academic record, preventing registration for any future semester.
Taking actions necessary to clear all post-admission provisions is the sole responsibility of the student. This may include contacting the respective testing agencies to have test scores sent to Stevens or contacting previous institutions they attended for an official copy of the transcript with degree conferral. All documents necessary to fulfill post-admission provisions must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
* For international students only
Post-Admission Academic Conditions
During the review of an application, it may be determined that a student should be admitted to a graduate program with post-admission academic conditions that must be met. The academic condition(s) may require the student to maintain a certain grade point average, to take a certain number of semester hours of coursework, or to successfully complete specific graduate courses.
Action on students end: Your admission letter will indicate that you have post-admission academic conditions that must be met. Continuation in the program as a degree-seeking student is contingent upon fulfilling specific requirements stipulated in the admission letter. If you do not fulfill the academic conditions, you will be barred from subsequent registration.
