The mission of the New Jersey Higher Education Mental Health Summit is to gather leaders and front-line practitioners from colleges and universities across the state for a one-day conference to share best practices and to learn from one another about what is working in the field and on our campuses to best support our students.

All areas of higher education institutions are affected by and need to be engaged in responding to this pressing issue. This Summit connects university faculty and administrators across New Jersey with mental health leaders. It is open to all of New Jersey’s higher education communities.

Now more than ever, institutions consider the challenges facing students. According to data from the 2023 Healthy Minds Survey:

  • 44% of college students reported symptoms of depression.

  • 37% experienced anxiety.

  • 15% said they were considering suicide.
