25 Under 25 Honoree Jonathan Martin
While making yourself heard is important, Jonathan Martin is responsible for ensuring more than 10,000 voices are represented at any given time. As a state vice president for Future Business Leaders of America, he carries the interests of middle school, high school and collegiate members across New Jersey.
That scale of responsibility is matched by the depth of his academic commitment. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in information systems alongside a Master of Engineering in systems engineering through the Accelerated Master's Program, Martin has maintained a 3.8 undergraduate GPA and a perfect 4.0 at the graduate level.
Closer to campus, his leadership is just as present. As a Residential Assistant, Martin draws on extensive training in crisis management, conflict mediation and diversity to create a residence hall community where every student feels supported and included. Planning programming that brings together students from a wide range of backgrounds has become one of the most formative dimensions of his development as a leader, teaching him to balance individual needs with community standards in ways no classroom can fully replicate.
His commitment to service runs equally deep. As Internal Director of THON Dance Marathon, he oversees a team of five and has contributed to a collective fundraising effort that has surpassed $90,000 for pediatric cancer research and family support.
