Stevens Students Report Record Satisfaction and Engagement in 2025 National Survey

Strong gains across academics and campus life reflect university-wide commitment to student success

Stevens Institute of Technology students are more engaged, more connected and more satisfied with their Stevens experience than ever before, according to results from the 2025 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

The national survey, which measures how undergraduates at hundreds of universities engage with their learning, found strong and steady gains for Stevens students across nearly every area of academic and campus life.

Record-High Ratings

Both first-year and senior students rated their overall Stevens experience at the highest levels ever recorded. An impressive 86% of first-year students and 85% of seniors rated their educational experience as "Excellent" or "Good" — the highest in Stevens’ history.

Perhaps most telling: 87% of first-year students said they would "definitely" or "probably" choose Stevens again, reflecting growing confidence in the value and impact of their education.

"These results affirm the collaborative work of our faculty, staff and students to continually strengthen the Stevens experience," said President Nariman Farvardin. "We are committed to providing an environment that inspires curiosity, fosters community and prepares students to lead in a rapidly changing world."

Strong Results Across Academics and Campus Life

Among the 10 key engagement indicators NSSE measures, Stevens students reported major gains in areas such as:

  • Quality of Interactions: Stevens' highest-performing area, reflecting positive relationships among students, faculty and staff

  • Higher-Order Learning: Strong experiences in applying, analyzing and synthesizing complex information

  • Collaborative Learning: Valued opportunities to work with peers on meaningful projects

  • Student-Faculty Interaction: Notable improvement for first-year students, demonstrating stronger connections with faculty mentors

Compared to 2022, Stevens saw gains in 9 out of 10 engagement indicators for first-year students and more than half for seniors. Looking back to 2019, the progress is even more dramatic, with significant increases across nearly all measures.

"This progress reflects the dedication of every faculty and staff member who supports our students," said Vice President for Student Affairs Sara Klein. "From our First-Year Experience course to our robust co-curricular programming, we're providing transformative opportunities at every stage of the Stevens journey."
