Battista Family Tennis Courts Serve the Community

In recognition of Frank T. Battista ’54 for his support of the University Center Complex (UCC) with a planned gift, the UCC tennis courts have been named the Battista Family Tennis Courts to honor his family.

Battista learned to play tennis at Stevens in the 1950s and went on to have a successful engineering career and enjoy decades of competitive tennis play.

“Stevens opened doors for me,” Battista said. “And my family made big sacrifices for me to attend, so I am happy to honor my family’s name at Stevens.”

“We are extremely proud that Frank chose to honor his family through naming our tennis courts and very grateful for his support of Stevens,” said Russell Rogers, assistant vice president and director of athletics & recreation.

The tennis courts, which offer beautiful views of the Hudson River, are constructed from top-of-the-line materials to ensure durability and feature overhead lighting to allow for nighttime play. The courts offer state-of-the-art facilities for tennis lovers from across the campus community.
