Music and technology professor Lainie Fefferman has launched a new project with composer Jascha Narveson. Their synth-pop duo, The Beverage Station, released its debut album, “Little Grey Cells.” Their music combines elements of Kraftwerk, Laurie Anderson and Sylvan Esso with intricate algorithmic synths, danceable polymeters and personal field recordings that range from Norwegian rain to Brooklyn pile-drivers. The duo began a promotional tour for the album around the northeast and Canada, playing to several sold-out shows in Brooklyn.
Pin-Kuang Lai, assistant professor in Stevens’ Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, has been recognized as a ScholarGPS 2024 Top Scholar in antibody research, ranking among the top 0.5% of more than 30 million researchers worldwide. Lai’s research focuses on improving how therapeutic antibodies are delivered, aiming to replace lengthy IV infusions with quick subcutaneous injections — a meaningful shift for patients managing chronic conditions. In his lab, he integrates molecular modeling, experiments and machine learning to design more stable antibodies. He also collaborates with industry and shares his computational tools to help accelerate new therapeutic discoveries.
