Application & Credit Evaluation for Transfer Students
From the moment you apply to Stevens, we keep you informed every step of the way. You'll receive timely updates, access to your student portal and clear guidance on how your previous coursework may transfer. Our credit evaluation process ensures transparency, helping you understand how your academic history fits into your future at Stevens.
After submitting a transfer application, within two to three business days you will receive:
an application acknowledgement
access to your Stevens student portal
updates from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
A transfer credit evaluation is required as part of the application process. Transfer credits are awarded by evaluating your courses against equivalent courses at Stevens. Providing detailed information on your courses enables the course evaluators to conduct a thorough review of potential transfer credits. Students can utilize the Stevens Transfer Database to review previously approved courses for which transfer credit was awarded. Courses not listed in the Stevens Transfer Database can still be evaluated for transfer credit. Your transfer credit evaluation results will be available to admitted students prior to the tuition deposit deadline in your Stevens student portal.
Credit Evaluation Policies
A grade of C or higher is required for credits to be eligible for transfer.
Courses graded as Pass/Fail are not accepted.
Credits earned five years or more before your intended attendance will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Foreign language credits do not have a direct equivalent at Stevens; however, they may fulfill a general elective credit if approved.
Stevens cannot guarantee that credits earned at other institutions will fully meet the university’s course requirements.
You can transfer at most 50% of your required graduation credits; at least 50% of your coursework must be completed at Stevens to earn a Stevens degree.
If you have questions about your credits, please email [email protected].

Registrar’s Report: This report verifies your enrollment and academic standing and requests your college registrar upload your official transcript online. Though it is not mandatory, it can be useful if your college offers this service.
Note: You can request a school administrator at your current institution to upload an optional report directly to the Common App or email it to [email protected].
