Lore-El offers the Stevens community resources to support and empower women and leaders in our community.

The Lore-El staff is knowledgeable about on and off-campus resources, and can direct students to resources when support is needed. 

National Leadership, Professional Development, and Empowerment Organizations for Women

YWCA of Northern New Jersey - YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world. For over a century, YWCA Northern New Jersey has been on the forefront of the fight against gender and racial discrimination. We work to build more just and inclusive communities through programs for women and girls, anti-racism training, and policy advocacy. 

Progressive Women's Leadership - This organization seeks to "empower and elevate women leading the way at work", by providing webinars, leadership guides, and educational resources, such as podcasts and TED Talks.

MentorNet - MentorNet seeks to provide STEM students, particularly women and those from underrepresented groups, across the nation with the opportunity to connect with professionals online and participate in ongoing mentoring relationships. 

STEMinist - STEMinist is an online platform featuring stories about women in STEM, in order to increase visibility, promote and elevate the perspective of women in these traditionally underrepresented fields, encourage younger women and girls to pursue careers in STEM, and capture what is current and relevant for women in STEM.

Women in STEM Knowledge Center - The mission of this organization is to "support efforts to increase the number and prominence of diverse communities of women in STEM by providing and online community of practice with both resources and collaborative workspaces".  

Association for Women in Science - This association is dedicated to promoting excellence in STEM by achieving equity and full participation of women in all disciplines and across all employment sectors. AWIS provides members with a global network of over 100,000 STEM professionals, as well as career and personal development resources.

Society of Women Engineers - SWE is an inclusive organization focused on issues of interest to women specializing in engineering and technical careers. SWE offers a network of women engineers, scholarship opportunities, access to national and regional conferences, webinars, podcasts, and online career center, and a myriad of other supports and resources.

National Organization for Women - This is a feminist grassroots organization focused on activism for economic equality, women's health issues, racial justice, gender identity and sexuality, and gendered violence. 

American Association of University Women - AAUW is a national grassroots organization that provides programs focused on gender equity research, STEM education, campus specific initiatives, public policy, lifelong learning, and global connections.
