Mathematical equations overlapping each other

Department of Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Stevens is a leader in the field of algebraic cryptography.

Indispensable to engineering and the sciences, mathematics plays a central role in academic life at Stevens and our department offers you the opportunity to explore this fascinating subject.

In addition to being a leader in algebraic cryptography, our department has a strong research focus on group theory, including computational, combinatorial, and geometric group theory.

Choose Your Path

Our programs provide you with the foundational skills, knowledge, and research expertise to prepare for professional success.
