Stevens Management Consulting Challenge
Virtual High School Team Competition
Choose a Fortune 500 company. Analyze the business. Pitch the strategy.
2-4 students per team | 10 min virtual pitch | 100 judging points |
The Challenge
Your team will act as a management consulting group. Select any company appearing on the current Fortune 500 list, evaluate its position in the marketplace and recommend a focused strategy that can strengthen the company over the next one to three years. This is not a company profile. Strong teams will move beyond description, use credible evidence, identify a meaningful business opportunity or challenge, and present recommendations that are creative, realistic and measurable.
Competition Objectives
Apply marketing and management concepts to a real, recognizable organization.
Develop research, strategic thinking, teamwork, communication and presentation skills.
Connect customer insight and competitive positioning with the people, processes and resources required for implementation.
Who May Participate
Team Structure: Two to four high school students in grades 9-12. Students may attend the same school or form a team across schools.
Registration Cost: $50.00 per team
Company Selection: Teams may select any company on the current Fortune 500 list. Multiple teams may analyze the same company; each submission will be judged independently.
Video Presentation Requirement: Each team must submit a prerecorded video presentation of no more than 10 minutes. Teams may record the presentation using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, or another accessible platform, and it does not require professional equipment or editing. Videos must be submitted in MP4 or MOV format.
Top Three Finalist Team Awards
The three winning teams will be recognized on the Stevens website and will receive the following monetary awards:
First-Place: $600
Second-Place: $400
Third-Place: $200
Each award will be issued to the team as a single check or ACH transfer rather than divided into separate payments for individual team members.
Individual Participant Recognition
Every participant will receive a digital badge and a digital certificate of participation recognizing their involvement in the competition. Students can share the digital badge on LinkedIn and include their participation in the competition on their college applications.
Evidence, Sources and AI
Generative AI may only be used for brainstorming, research support or editing. Teams must verify every claim, submit original analysis, cite underlying sources and disclose AI tools used on the reference slide.
Competition Conduct
Students are expected to communicate professionally, respect team members and follow all event instructions. The judges' decisions are final.
