25 Under 25 Honoree Sweenal Godrick Pereira
When Sweenal Godrick Pereira arrived at Stevens, she thought she was stepping into a race she was not fully prepared for. Howdver, once she started saying yes to opportunities that may have felt intimidating, she soon found herself helping other students navigate their own educational journeys.
As a Teaching Assistant for two semesters for the Human-Centered Design of AI Artifacts course, she supported a corporate cohort in collaboration with Pfizer, making complex technical workflows feel practical and approachable by consistently thinking from the learner's perspective. Under the guidance of Professor Aron Lindberg, she scripted and developed instructional videos for industry professionals as part of the management of artificial intelligence certificate program, an experience profiled by the school.
Currently in her third semester of the Master of Science in financial technology and analytics program with a 3.83 GPA, Pereira has embraced the challenge of transitioning from a Bachelor of Commerce background into a rigorous quantitative curriculum. Her coursework spans probability theory, time series analysis and financial risk management, supplemented by a financial modeling certification and ongoing independent upskilling. As CIO of the Graduate Student Managed Investment Fund, she contributes to equity and ETF research, macroeconomic analysis and investment strategy discussions that connect financial theory to real-time market decision-making.
As a Graduate Assistant for the School of Business, she has helped support major events, including Innovation Expo and Trading Days. Before Stevens, she worked as a Financial Analyst Intern.
