Nicolas Marchisio believes that excellence means setting high standards for yourself and then helping the people around you reach theirs. At Stevens, he has done both.

A quantitative finance major with a 3.92 GPA, Marchisio has built his academic foundation on coursework in financial econometrics, stochastic processes and pricing and hedging, applying those concepts directly to the real-world investment decisions he oversees as Head of the Stevens Student Managed Investment Fund (SSMIF). In that role, he manages more than one million dollars of Stevens endowment capital across equity, quantitative and fixed-income strategies, leading a fifty-plus member organization that includes senior managers, sector teams and analysts. His goal has been to transform SSMIF from a student club into an institution that mirrors the standards of professional asset management.

His professional experience has kept pace with that ambition. Marchisio previously interned in Internet Equity Research at Oppenheimer and Company, building valuation models and contributing to published research on public companies including Alphabet. This coming summer, he will join Truist Securities as an Equity Research Summer Analyst, continuing to develop his skills in fundamental analysis and investment communication.

Alongside his own career, Marchisio has invested heavily in others. As Vice President of Research for the Finance and Investment Banking Advisory Club, he works one-on-one with underclassmen on stock pitch preparation, mock interviews, resume building and recruiting strategy, with the explicit goal of reducing information asymmetry and ensuring that motivated students have a clear path to competitive finance opportunities regardless of what they already know when they arrive.
