Fiona Shi has never been afraid to hustle. A first-generation college student who is balancing school, work and extracurriculars, she is driven by wanting to make her efforts matter. At Stevens, Fiona has built a remarkable record of academic excellence and leadership while taking an 18-credit course load, including Senior Design, working 15 hours a week at Colgate-Palmolive, serving as a student assistant for Managerial Accounting and commuting between New York and New Jersey to make it all happen.

On campus, Fiona has made a meaningful impact through leadership and community engagement. As Business Manager for The Stute, she has gone beyond managing budgets and finances by building relationships with local businesses, promoting the publication’s media kit and increasing revenue through community partnerships. As Event Coordinator for the Click It Club, she has organized events that have drawn up to 80 students and fostered collaborations with more than 10 campus organizations, ensuring that every initiative is inclusive and community focused.

Professionally, Fiona has developed strong analytical and strategic skills through her work at Colgate-Palmolive, where she collaborates with finance directors to build dashboards that help evaluate large promotional campaigns. This hands-on experience has deepened her understanding of finance and business operations and she is preparing to expand that perspective further through an upcoming opportunity at PricewaterhouseCoopers this summer.

Fiona’s commitment to impact extends to sustainability and campus service. As a student intern with Stevens’ Department of Sustainability and Transportation, she led a microgrant-funded initiative to improve recycling infrastructure, introducing PLA filament recycling for 3D printers, clearer signage and new dual-colored bins across campus.
