Apporto - new cloud VDI environment for learning and research for the Stevens Community

The Systems team is currently testing Apporto as a new replacement for the Stevens on-prem virtual learning environment (VLE). Apporto is a secure, cloud-based virtual desktop solution that can be accessed in a web browser from anywhere and on any device. Faculty and students will enjoy integration with Canvas, 24/7 technical support directly with Apporto and ease of access.

Apporto is being used as a pilot for select classes and are continually seeing an increase in student usage during the Spring 2021 semester. We are beginning preparations for the upcoming Summer 2021 semester by adding additional software onto the current desktops hosted within the platform.
