Overview

The IT Business Strategy and Planning (BSP) team partners with the Stevens community on technology initiatives, providing consulting support through business analysis, relationship management, and project management services.

Requesting a Project

All new technology project ideas and requests begin with the Project Request Form. This form captures high‑level information about the project’s goals, scope, complexity, and anticipated timeline, allowing the BSP team to understand the request at a glance.

After submission, the BSP team will follow up as needed to help clarify requirements and gather additional details to ensure a clear and shared understanding of the request.

Technology projects of all sizes are encouraged to be submitted through the Project Request Form. Whether you are requesting a small enhancement, a departmental solution, or a large, cross‑functional initiative, the BSP team is here to help you understand your needs and ensure your request is reviewed consistently and thoughtfully.

Audio Visual Project Blackout Dates

Beginning in Fiscal Year 2025, the OneIT team implemented Audio Visual (AV) Project Blackout dates to streamline planning and execution. This process will continue moving forward. The BSP team will only accept AV project requests during the first and second quarters of each fiscal year. For Fiscal Year 2027, projects will be accepted between July 1 and December 31, 2026. Any requests submitted after this period will be scheduled for implementation in the following fiscal year.

Please note that this does not include capital projects.

What is an Audio Visual (AV) project? A project that requires both audio and visual component(s) such as a conference room, huddle space, office upgrade or a classroom.

Please note: Project timelines that are requested are not guaranteed based on OneIT's project load.
