Speaker: Al Iannuzzi, President and Founder of Iannuzzi Sustainability Solutions

ABSTRACT

Is sustainability a business imperative? Using concepts from my book Greener Products - the Making and Marketing of Sustainable Brands - we will explore the key drivers for sustainability.  From my experience as VP of Sustainability at Estee Lauder Companies, I will share the approach to managing sustainability and the key objectives that a Prestige Beauty Company focuses on.  Key performance indicators and drivers of achievement will be reviewed along with green marketing approach of leading consumer brands.  

BIOGRAPHY

Al Iannuzzi.

Al Iannuzzi is President and Founder of Iannuzzi Sustainability Solutions. He has held senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies, including Vice President of Sustainability at The Estée Lauder Companies and Senior Director of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability at Johnson & Johnson.

Al brings more than 35 years of experience in the Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) field. At The Estée Lauder Companies, he led enterprise-wide efforts to define and execute sustainability goals, including climate and energy commitments, ESG reporting, sustainable packaging, and responsible sourcing. At Johnson & Johnson, he led Design for the Environment and Green Marketing programs and developed sustainability strategies across the Consumer, Medical Device, and Pharmaceutical sectors. He also served as the chief architect of the Earthwards® greener product development program. Earlier in his career, Al worked as an environmental consultant and as a regulator with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

As an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University, he instructs MBA students on the importance of Sustainability Strategy. He has 8 years teaching Product Improvement and Sustainability at Indiana University–Purdue University, and is a sought-after lecturer on sustainability strategy at leading universities. He is the author of four books, most recently Greener Products: The Making & Marketing of Sustainable Brands (3rd Edition, 2024) and has written numerous articles on sustainability and product stewardship.
