General Information

Patrick Hill is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology. He began teaching at Stevens as an Adjunct Professor in 2018 and was appointed as a full-time Lecturer in 2022.

A professional software developer since 1998, Patrick holds an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Programming and Systems from LaGuardia Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Psychology from Baruch College, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Over the course of his career, Patrick has worked in environments ranging from innovative tech start-ups to large, global organizations. He brings extensive expertise in desktop, web, and mobile development, spanning both front-end and back-end technologies, application architecture, and full-stack solutions across multiple platforms.

Since joining the Stevens faculty, Patrick has taught Web Programming I and Web Programming II. He is deeply passionate about teaching, viewing it as his true calling.

“Teaching feeds my soul,” he says. “After years in the industry, I realized that helping students grow—not just as programmers, but as professionals—was the most meaningful work I could do.”

Patrick is recognized for his engaging, supportive teaching style and his ability to connect with students. He is committed to helping them master technical concepts, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and build the confidence needed for long-term success in the software industry.

Patrick has worked in the software industry for over 20 years. He has worked for various large corporations and for many start-ups throughout the years.
