Stevens has coordinated academic program with Keio University, a private research university in Tokyo, Japan. Students applying to Stevens graduate programs through this agreement are eligible to pursue a master's degree in Financial Analytics or Financial Engineering.
Applying to the Keio-Stevens program
You must obtain approval from Keio's global program to begin your Stevens application. You are advised to consult with Keio University on the timeline and requirements to apply to this program.
To apply to Stevens, complete a Stevens online application form. When creating your account, please use the same email address you used for your Keio application. In the area “Financial Support,” you will see a category for “University Affiliates or Institutional Agreements.” Please answer “Yes” to the question about whether you will attend as part of a university affiliate or institutional agreement, and select Keio University from the dropdown menu. These steps are critical in helping us to accurately track your application under this agreement.
Once you have submitted all required application materials, you can expect to hear from your admission advisor regarding next steps.
General application requirements
Stevens can use unofficial transcripts from your university to render a decision, but upon acceptance, you will be required to submit official transcripts. Transcripts must show your name, the name of the university attended, enrollment dates, coursework completed and grades assigned. At minimum, you must have an overall GPA of 3.0 (a B average), and a GPA of 3.3 in mathematics courses above the 3000 level, to be considered for admission to Stevens.
You must include a résumé with your application that highlights:
• Academic record.
• Professional experience, including internships.
• Leadership abilities.
• Professional aspirations.
Stevens often invites master's candidates to interview prior to making an admissions decision. If you are selected for an interview after submitting your application, you will receive instructions via email.
Letters of recommendation
Your application must include two letters of recommendation. The admissions committee accepts academic or professional letters of recommendation.
GMAT/GRE and Language Test
Keio students who have maintained a grade point average of at least 3.0 (2.3 at Keio) through their undergraduate studies will receive a GMAT/GRE waiver from Stevens. A competitive score on a language test is required for all Keio students; PEARL students are exempt from this requirement, as their program of study is delivered in English. Preferred scores include:
• IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): At least 90.
• IELTS: At least 7.
• Duolingo English Test (DET): At least 110.
At Stevens' discretion, candidates with scores within the Stevens minimum range may be accepted, but must complete English Language Communciation courses in the first semester.
Tuition and fees
Admitted applicants pay a preferential tuition of $25,500 for the one-year master's program, exclusive of fees. To receive a visa, please verify your ability to pay the program's tuition and fees.
