About
Welcome
The Department of Systems and Enterprises attracts bright minds with bold ideas who want to take on some of the most dire threats facing the world. We are dedicated to educating thought and technical leaders who will impact global challenges in research and development, policy and strategy, and entrepreneurial innovation in academia, business and government. Our programs and research focus on two core areas: systems and software engineering, and enterprise science and engineering.
Our undergraduate and graduate degree programs place students in a hands-on, application-driven academic environment that combines study in engineering management, industrial and systems engineering, software engineering, space systems engineering, systems analytics and systems engineering with research and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The department's emphasis on transdisciplinary education gives students the multidisciplinary perspectives that they need to immediately step into leadership roles of increasing responsibility across industries after graduation. From a faculty body of systems science and engineering scholars and industry professionals, students learn about the tools and processes that are required to successfully manage complexity across enterprise levels.
Our approach to graduate education ensures that students graduate with the ability to view 21st-century challenges from all angles, empowering them to see the bigger picture and become high-impact thought and technical leaders across areas such as aerospace and defense, healthcare, intelligent transportation, smart cities and urban resilience.
