Welcome to the Summer at Stevens Student Staff Application!
This application is for currently enrolled undergraduate Stevens students applying for summer staff positions with Pre-College Programs OR Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP).

Pre-College Programs 2023 Residential Counselor
Managing evening and overnight supervision of participants
Guide/supervise students to/in class
Facilitate daytime and evening activities for all summer students
Attend site visits/and cruises with students on a weekly basis
RC positions are live-in positions in co-educational residential communities
Availability to work evenings and weekends
RC's will receive their weekly schedule during our weekly Sunday meetings
All staff must commit to all 4 weeks of programs + training one week prior (5 total weeks) to be considered for either position. Programs run from June 26th – July 28th.
All staff must undergo thorough Background Checks to be considered for either position. An electronic form will be provided to you upon offer of summer employment.
Residential Counselors may not take courses during the program, be on co-op or have any other on campus jobs or research assignments.
All staff will have mandatory staff training from June 20th until June 24th .
Staff will oversee Stevens Summer participants and enforce regulations and policies
Create and maintain a positive living environment for Summer participants
Assist Hall Directors in planning and execution of all evening activities
Escort participants to and from class and research projects
Attend weekly site visits to local companies and
Attend weekly Hudson dinner cruises!
$3,250 total summer stipend

STEP
Provide individual and group tutoring; share useful and successful study strategies; help students understand and master course material
Supervise and assist students within classes and residence hall
Enforce all program and university rules
Commit to 6 weeks of employment (Bridge) and 3 weeks of employment (MIP) with rotating weekly and weekend duty schedule; cannot be enrolled in summer courses; attend all trainings
Attend assigned classes, labs, and recitations, and other program related events
Facilitate/coordinate all tutoring and recitation activities
Specifically, help Bridge students acclimate and begin their transition to Stevens
Be a positive role model for all students
Six week residential program (last week of June through first week of August) for incoming Stevens freshmen
A simulation (not replication) of the first semester at Stevens
Daily schedule of freshman level classes (non-remedial) - attendance is mandatory
Potential to earn 4 credits
Workshops, seminars, and social events
Three week residential program for non-Stevens undergraduate students of the NJ Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)
Strengthening and enrichment of Mathematics skills
Exposure to professional development
Daily schedule of college prep math classes - attendance is mandatory
Workshops, seminars, and social events
Biweekly stipend (paid according to Stevens bi-weekly payroll schedule)
Bridge - $TBD for six weeks
MIP - $TBD for three weeks
