Site Civil Design on a Mega Scale
Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering
Location: Gateway North 103
Speakers: Dylan Ryan, PE '11: Civil Engineering Team Manager at HDR & Juan David Valencia Ayala, '25: Site Civil Designer at HDR
ABSTRACT
The seminar will discuss the trend in the industrial and technology markets of developing “Mega Sites”, as opposed to the once-typical practice of developing multiple smaller sites, and the unique design challenges these Mega Sites present. The presenters will share several examples of such developments and describe some of the aspects of Site Civil design that cannot easily be scaled up for a Mega Site and, instead, require creativity and innovation for successful project execution.
